“Rosie the Riveter” is a pop culture phenomenon that represented the women who took over factory production during WWII. Seamstresses in particular found that riveting was a natural fit for them, which is why the aviation industry saw the largest increase in female workers to 65% of the total workforce. The majority of planes during WWII were built by women and were flown to their respective theaters by women air crews – known as WASPs. From the hand-painted instrument panels to the munitions dropped on targets, industrious women across the country contributed their own blood, sweat, and tears to victory!
» Winemaking notes:
Hand-picked Pinot Noir clones 777 and 115 from La Dolce Vita Vineyard in the Tualatin Hills AVA. Planted on a gently sloping, southeast-facing hillside of Laurelwood soils shaped by the Missoula Floods 12,000 years ago, the site brings both structure and elegance to the wine.
Riveter is the bolder sister to “THUD” Blanc de Noir. While “THUD” is picked early from the same block to create a clean, crisp white wine, Riveter is harvested at full maturity and given 24 hours of skin contact before pressing, imparting a deep blush hue and a fuller mouthfeel.
- Dry – no residual sugar
- No fining agents or animal products used
» Tasting notes:
Like the icon it represents, Riveter shows what a bold rosé can be -- rich, robust, and unapologetic. Strawberry, cherry, and pomegranate lead into a velvety, full-bodied finish that lingers long after the last sip.
» Ingredients:
Pinot Noir grapes, water, yeast*, nutrient*, sulfite.
*Yeast, bacteria, and nutrients were used during fermentation and removed by natural settling and filtration.
