2023 Pinot Noir | Nationmaker | Tualatin Hills AVA

Nationmaker is a commemorative label marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. This nation was created by ordinary citizens who stepped forward when it mattered, often at a great personal cost, and built a country rooted in opportunity. Winemaker Ben Martin, a direct descendant of a Revolutionary War veteran, created Nationmaker as a tribute to the American Spirit. It is an acknowledgment of service, civic duty, and the responsibility of stewardship carried across generations. This wine is a dedication to the forebears who came before us, and to the enduring values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

» Winemaking notes:
Hand picked field blend of 777 and 115 Pinot Noir from La Dolce Vita Vineyards on the northern edge western slopes of the Tualatin Hills AVA. Punched down twice daily during a 2 week ferment. Unfined and polished filtered with natural and added sulfites for freshness, no additional preservatives, animal products, or residual sugar. Aged 18 months on fine lees and French Medium+ toasted oak. Enjoy slightly chilled by itself or with a light meal.

» Tasting notes: 
Nationmaker marches onto the palate with a drumroll of bright cherry, vanilla, and a subtle hint of cola. Fine tannins coat the mouth while vibrant acidity carries through to a long, savory finish. A true crowd-pleaser.

Pinot Noir grapes, water, yeast*, nutrient*, lactic acid bacteria*, sulfite. 
*Yeast, bacteria, and nutrients were used during fermentation and removed by natural settling and filtration.
