“Rosie the Riveter” is a pop culture phenomenon that represented the women who took over factory production during WWII. The aviation industry saw the largest increase in female workers to 65% of the total workforce. A majority of the large bombers and small fighters were built by women. From the glow of the hand-painted radium on the instrument panels to the munitions dropped on targets - industrious women across the country contributed their own blood, sweat, and tears to victory!
