2018 Pinot Noir 777 | Overlord | Chehalem Mts

Taxis to Hell – and Back – Into the Jaws of Death is a series of iconic photos taken on June 6, 1944 depicting soldiers of the 1st Army Division approaching the “Easy Red” sector of Omaha Beach during the battle of Normandy, known as Operation Overlord. Preceded by a chaotic 1,200-plane airborne assault, the beach landings carried over 132,000 troops across the English channel and were the largest combat operation ever performed by the Coast Guard. Overlord heralded the “race to Berlin” against the Soviet Union, and is what some consider to be the start
of the Cold War.

Winemaking notes: Hand picked single block pinot noir from Jesse Estate Vineyards in the Chehalem mountains. 100% 777 pinot noir clone. Aged on the lees and in barrel for 1 year 4 months. Stirred regularly and aged with American Medium+ flame toasted oak.

Tasting notes: This is the first single clone 777 that we've produced! Overlord is a single block pinot noir that was hand picked from Jesse Estate Vineyards off Johnson School Road in the Chehalem mountains. Overlord is showing a wide array of flavors and aromas including lots of blue fruit, anise, pomegranate, black cherry, and cola – there's even a little chocolate hiding in there!
